PROJECT TREE Sustainability Activity Quarterly Report (October - December 2024)

Report

In Q4 of 2024, PROJECT TREE expanded its reach, engaging 8,074 smallholders, including 1,467 female smallholders. This brings the total number of participating smallholders to 19,912 (16,357 male and 3,555 female) since the project's launch in 2021. This significant increase underscores the growing value of PROJECT TREE in improving the livelihoods of smallholders within the natural rubber industry, while demonstrating our commitment to gender inclusivity.

We are also proud to see the TREE+ initiative engaged 12,000 smallholders and assessed 70,000 hectares of natural rubber farms. PROJECT TREE has yielded valuable insights into land use practices, helping us uncover opportunities to enhance and promote responsible sourcing from smallholders.

The impact of PROJECT TREE is evident in the success stories of smallholders like Mr. Sarno from Desa Giri Purno, Jambi. Through the capacity-building program, Mr. Sarno has improved his plant productivity by adopting better farming practices. This has resulted in increased yields and healthier rubber trees, enabling him to manage his plantation more effectively.

2024 marked a pivotal year for PROJECT TREE. We significantly expanded our outreach, engaging more smallholders and equipping them with the tools and knowledge needed to enhance environmental awareness and sustainable practices. Through targeted training programs tailored to their specific needs, we empowered smallholders to make meaningful changes in their agricultural practices. Also, by supporting smallholders through incentive’s value chain, we are not only fostering economic growth within local communities but also generating positive ripple effects that extend beyond individual farmers and their families—benefiting entire communities and the surrounding environment.

Moving forward, we remain dedicated to our mission and look forward to collaborating with all our partners to achieve even greater impact. We are excited about the future as we continue to build a transparent rubber ecosystem for earth.
