Project TREE Highlighted by Suppliers Partnership for the Environment (SP) "Creativity in Implementing Sustainable Practices Award
Recent industry sustainability awards have highlighted ITOCHU's Project TREE as a notable initiative supporting responsible natural rubber sourcing and supply chain transparency.
Project TREE enables farm-to-factory traceability through a combination of GPS mapping, on-site verification, satellite monitoring, and transaction records. The initiative helps companies verify sourcing origins and monitor potential deforestation risks while maintaining the participation of smallholder farmers in the supply chain.
The project was recognized through Hankook Tire's receipt of the Creativity in Implementing Sustainable Practices Award from Suppliers Partnership for the Environment (SP). The award acknowledged the collaboration between Hankook Tire and ITOCHU in developing a practical approach to natural rubber traceability and sustainable sourcing.
As sustainability expectations continue to grow across global industries, Project TREE demonstrates how collaboration, technology, and transparency can help build more responsible and resilient supply chains.
